Generally no. The current periodicals are library use only. There is a newspaper vending machine near the J Café in the building where you can get copies of select newspapers for free by swiping your student ID. However, older bound periodicals can be checked out with your student ID.  We have two freebie shelves in the back of the library that have magazines and journals that are free to take.
