In most circumstances, books cannot be checked out. Special Collections books must not be taken out of the reading room, with only a few exceptions. However, books can be placed on hold so that patrons do not have to fill out a request slip each time they come in.

Some Closed Collection and Comic Art Collection books may be checked out subject to the discretion of Special Collections staff. To find out more, read our Book Use Policies.
