The Health Sciences library does have restricted access beginning the Sunday one week prior to Exam's and extending through Exam Week.  During the Restricted Access period, evening access is restricted from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

We allow the following patrons into the Health Sciences Library during the restricted hours:

MU Faculty and Staff, students in Medicine, Nursing, UMKC Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine and Health Related Professions including:

  • Cardiopulmonary & Diagnostic Sciences
  • Clinical Lab Science
  • Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Nuclear Medicine
  •  Radiological Science
  •  Respiratory Therapy
  • Communication Science and Disorders
  • Health Psychology
  • Health Sciences
  • Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science
  • Physical Therapy
  • Disability Policy and Studies
  • Health Management and Informatics
  • Health Informatics
  • Health Ethics
  • Health Administration
  • Informatics Ph.D program
  • Biomedical Sciences
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) students

We DO NOT allow students from others colleges to enter during our restricted access, including but not limited to:

  • Pre-med
  • Human Development and Family Studies
  • Human Environmental Sciences
  • Psychological Sciences
  • Social Work
  • Biological Sciences

Students must be enrolled in one of the schools listed above and must present a valid MU ID card to enter. Please show a Hospital ID or your TigerCard ID to enter. If your ID does not identify you as a member of a health related program, your TigerCard ID will be checked at the Circulation Desk.
